International students applying to participate in a formal institutional exchange program with Iowa State may complete the online nondegree application, and select "Iowa State Exchange Program" on the program selection field.

Review the listing of institutions with which Iowa State has exchange agreements to make sure your institution is listed as an exchange partner. If your school is not listed there, you may still apply as a nondegree student if you wish to attend for one or two semesters, intend to take classes on a full-time basis, and can meet the English and financial certification requirements. Please select "Other" on the program selection field. You should be aware that obtaining visas for such study may be difficult.
